Joining the conversations or just reading what others have to say in our Forums, is easy. Here’s some simple pointers to help you get started….
The Forums Homepage is broken into two key areas
- Team Discussion – only members of each particular Team can see their Team Forum (unless the Team Leader has chosen to share content with everyone)
- General Discussion – everyone can view and participate in these Forums
The Forums Home page shows all the forums available for you to participate in, plus the total number of Threads underway, the total number of Posts made to date and the date and author of the last post.
What is a Thread?
Forums are made up of a number of Threads (or ‘conversations’) based on a particular topic or area of interest. Each Thread will have a range of Posts (entries such as comments, feedback etc) made to it by members.
Join the conversation
Select the Forum you want to view, or participate in, from the Forums Homepage. You will now be presented with all the Threads (conversations) underway.
Now you can either choose to
• View an existing Thread - simply click on the Thread title to Read all Posts
• Contribute to an existing Thread - simply click on the Thread title and click ‘Post Reply’ to add your contribution to the discussion
• Start a ‘New Thread’ - Click on ‘New Thread’ then create a Thread title (try and be as logical as possible so others easily know what it is you want to discuss). Enter your thoughts/request for info etc then click ‘Publish’. Your entry will now be live for others to see. To encourage conversation you may want to email colleagues and ask them to join the discussion.
Attaching a file
It’s is not currently possible to attach files to a Post however if you wish to make the file available to other to view simply use the ‘SHARE WITH OTHERS’ function in the main nav to send us the file. We can then attach a link to the file in your post.
Add your signature
If you would like to add a signature to your posting, you can set-up a signature in your Personal Profile. This will be appended to all your Forum posts
